Once described by Winston Churchill as the 'Pearl of Africa', Uganda is a lush and rich country split by numerous waterways. Situated in the southwest of the country, this park covers 331 sq km encompassing one of the last remaining habitats of the mountain gorilla. This is where about 330 individuals of the surviving mountain gorillas in the world live. The park also contains about 20 forest elephants, about 10 species of primate, duikers, bushbucks and the rare giant forest hog, as well as a host of bird and insect species.
